Autism and Employment

Duration: 1 – 3 hours; full day; 3 x morning or afternoon sessions

This workshop includes pre-work for attendees, with key points to consider, such as what is autism, the impact of the sensory environment on autistic people, and links to short training videos. Attendees will be asked to bring questions and “real-life” case studies to the workshop as applicable. This is especially helpful for the 3 hour sessions, and the series.

Topics covered will include: 

  • The benefits of a diverse workforce.
  • The differences of autism, including thinking and communication styles.
  • Making the workplace more inclusive and healthy for autistic staff and colleagues (and everyone): what is meant by “reasonable adjustments” and accommodations.
  • Practical steps

Workshop Benefits:

You and your staff/colleagues/management will have greater levels of knowledge and understanding about what autism is, how it impacts on autistic people and those around them, the benefits it brings to the workforce, and practical tips and suggestions for building on your inclusive workplace

Autistic women and employment

Duration:  1 – 3 hours; full day

This workshop includes pre-work for attendees, with key points to consider, such as what is autism, the impact of the sensory environment on autistic people, and links to short training videos. Attendees will be asked to bring questions and “real-life” case studies to the workshop as applicable.

Topics covered will include: 

  • The benefits of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • The differences of autism, including thinking and communication styles and how these may impact specifically on autistic females (and some autistic men and non-binary people).
  • Why autism has historically, and often still is, missed in girls and women, and what difference that makes.
  • Creating a more inclusive and healthy workplace for autistic female staff and colleagues (and everyone): what is meant by “reasonable adjustments” and accommodations.
  • Practical steps.

Workshop Benefits:

Greater levels of knowledge and understanding about what autism is as experienced specifically by girls and women (and some men and non-binary people too!). The benefits autism brings, as well as some of the challenges, and practical tips and suggestions for building on your inclusive workplace environment.

Prices

1 hour: £500

3 hour/1/2 day: £1000

Full day: £1500 

3 half-day sessions: £2500

For workshops and training involving travel and accommodation expenses, these will be added to the cost of the workshop.
